Operating Activities

Activity Comments
ARRL Field Day Participated in 2006 on the UDXA GOTA station. In 2007, served as UDXA Network/Computer "Czar". Looking forward to UDXA 2008.

7QP Participated in 2007 7QP and operated in Tooele County and later from the home station in Salt Lake County. Won "First Place" for Tooele County last year. (To be fair, I was probably the only operator turning in a log from Tooele!) For 2008, the primary operating location will be the Tooele/Juab county line. Also serving as co-Lieutenant for Utah. For more information, please see http://7qp.org.

Contests I enjoy contesting due to fast-paced, short exchanges. Won First Place, Rookie, Low Power, All Bands, 7th Call Area in the 2007 CQ WPX SSB. This was quite a surprise and quite a mouthful. In 2008, I more than doubled my 2007 claimed score and had 145 unique prefixes.

FISTS This is one of several CW clubs. Further information can be found at http://www.fists.org. The club sponsors a number of operating activities and provides a QSL bureau.

3905 Century Club This club conducts daily on-air nets on various bands and frequencies. Please see their web site at http://www.3905ccn.com for more information. The club provides their own QSL bureau and software is available to monitor nets and log contacts. The bureau is very cost-effective and the card returns are very high.

Local Presently serving as communication specialist for my church group.
